In 1941, Charles B. (Bud) Hoober signed an agreement to sell International Harvester equipment in Intercourse, Pennsylvania. International Harvester liked the geographic location because the company wanted to be in a position to capture business when Amish farmers switched from horses to tractors.
That switch still hasn't happened, but since 1941 Hoober's core values of Service, Teamwork and Integrity have enabled the third-generation family-owned dealership to serve more and more customers throughout the mid-Atlantic region. Today, Hoober, Inc. has grown to 9 locations, with over 300 FTE employees. Our stores are spread over 300 miles and enable us to provide sales, parts and service to PA, NJ, MD, DE, and VA.
Our business continues to revolve around personal relationships and doing everything we can to take care of the customer. Service is the cornerstone of our business and we invest heavily to make sure that our service techs are properly trained and specialized in their area of expertise, and they are driving vehicles that are stocked to provide exceptional on-farm service.
Hoober has over $12 million in parts inventory, convenient 24/7 online parts ordering, we transfer parts between our locations every day, and we make daily trips to the CNH parts depot. Our mobile app and website provide access to Case IH parts diagrams, and our innovative Rewards Program provides savings all year-long to customers based on their parts purchasing.
Hoober is the region's leader in precision farming. In 2008, Hoober introduced our extensive RTK network which provides the largest contiguous coverage and accuracy to within an inch to customers throughout the Northeast & Mid-Atlantic regions. Hoober utilizes a mobile "Precision Ag Education and Display Center" to bring the latest technology and training to customers anywhere in our territory and has a dedicated team of precision ag technicians providing service and support across all our locations. In 2016 Hoober was recognized as Precision Farming Magazine's "Most Valuable Dealership."
In order to better serve customer's needs and improve the timeliness of equipment pickup and delivery, Hoober manages its own in-house trucking department with over 20 trucks and multiple flatbed, step deck, and lowboy trailers.
Hoober offers multiple lines of agricultural, construction, and grounds care equipment from dozens of leading manufacturers such as Case IH, Kubota, JCB, Kuhn/Knight/Krause, MacDon, Kinze, Geringhoff, Great Plains, Woods, Land Pride and many others. Having 9 locations allows us to offer a comprehensive selection of new and used inventory to meet our customer's diverse needs.
